Hackathon Logo
Role: Designer
Background: Web.com held an internal three-day hackathon designed to bring team members across the organization together to collaborate on a project of their choice.
Goal: Create a logo for the hackathon that embodied the spirit of the event and company values (respect, honesty, creativity). The contest was open to any employee who wanted to participate.
Process: I (rapidly) brainstormed about the purpose of the event and those involved, sketched out some early prototypes, experimented with on-brand and off-brand typography, and played around with elements like the red dot to develop a viable direction.
Results: In an almost too close to call Slack vote, I came in second place (silver medal).
Learnings:
• It’s amazing what you can accomplish in such a short turnaround time!
